Relief of these maladies is traditionally accomplished by applying a hot compress, providing heat and relaxation. Add 8 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to a bowl of hot water. Dip in a small towel or wash cloth, wring and apply to the painful area. Try this with neck tensions, stiff joints and menstrual cramps.

Lavender Floral Body Mist

Lavender Floral Body Mist offers a great relief and nourishing protection for red, sun-burned skin and dry hair. It is also great for moisturizing and toning skin that suffers from dry air or is irritated. Spray on frequently after a day in the sun, during flights, in air-conditioned offices, etc.

This water based spray is a by-product of lavender distillation.

Aroma Steam

For a healing aroma facial, add 2-3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to 2 cups of hot water in a bowl. After thoroughly cleansing face, expose skin to the fragrant steam by bending over the steaming bowl and draping a towel over head and bowl.

Allow the steam to cleanse and soothe facial skin for 10 minutes.

This same treatment has been used as a folk remedy for cold symptoms, such as stuffy nose, congested sinus and lungs, and headaches.

Facial Scrub for Fresh, Glowing Complexion

Add filtered water or chamomile tea to 2 tablespoons of finely ground oat meal, forming a smooth paste.

Add 3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil, either purely Lavender, or a combination of Lavender and Rose, Neroli, Tea Tree, Chamomile or Geranium.

Apply to face, neck and decolleté, massaging in small circles. Leave on for 2 minutes, then rinse with water.

Deep-conditioning Hair Care

Blend 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil with a cup of warm olive oil. Apply to your hair, massage it into the scalp, and cover with a shower cap. Wrap a towel over the cap to keep hair warm, then shampoo after 20 minutes.
